Why?
Because at the moment, there’s just too much hype and baloney, and it’s probably going to end badly for those who are “investing” in it.
However, here’s something I am always optimistic about:
Skills.
I’m always optimistic about developing specific abilities that deliver results and create value for self and others.
So here’s what I’d like to suggest:
Instead of investing in the latest hype…
Invest in developing skills.
Invest in unearthing skills you’ve forgotten about.
Invest in keeping your skills sharp.
And invest in communicating your sharpened skills to interviewers.
If you invest in your skills and keep them in good order, then after Bitcoin has come and gone – when all the hype has blown away in the wind – your skills will still bring you steady cash and a fulfilling career.
That's one investment that will never crash, never fail, and will always pay off in the end. And nobody can ever take it away from you.
There are lots of ways you could do this.
You could listen to podcasts, read books, follow online tutorials, attend conferences, or study other educational resources.
There's a particular study resource that I really like called Skillshare.
It's an online training platform – and what I love about it is that it provides a structured learning environment, and lets you study the materials at a pace and schedule that suits your lifestyle and personal commitments.
Skillshare offers over 19,000 online courses about business, technology, and creative skills, and every class is lead by vetted industry experts who are at the top of their game.
And the best part?
They offer a free month of access to all their courses.
This means you could create an account now, take yourself through a few of them, and see how this platform could help you sharpen your skillset.
