Too Many Interviews, No Job Offers – Here’s What to Change

No Job Offers If you’ve been looking for a job for too long, then it’s probably time to evaluate your actions. Are you doing something wrong? Have you been performing poorly during interviews? Here’s what to do in order to bring you a step closer to employment.

Check your references. It’s possible that you’ve been a job seeker for awhile due to your references. Ask a trusted, professional-sounding friend to call your references to check what they say about you. In case the reference does state something negative towards your performance, reach out to him or her and negotiate a more neutral assessment.

Try mock interviews. Ask someone who’s experienced in hiring to conduct a mock interview. Doing this gives you an idea of how you come across. Make sure to ask someone who’s willing to be blunt and offer insights to help you take your answers to the next level.

Ask for feedback. You may want to reach out to your past interviewers and ask if they will give you brief feedback on how you did. You can do this by sending out email requests, sincerely asking for any insight that might help you find a job. If the interviewer fails to reply, move on to the other interviewers until you find someone.

Check the hired candidate. If you’ve been wondering why you didn’t get the job after your last interview, see if you can investigate who actually made the cut. Doing this gives you an idea what the person’s background is, including his or her experiences, qualifications and skills. The information you gather can help you figure out what you genuinely want to pursue in life, career-wise.

Tweak your preparation routine. Preparing for a job interview is a must. However, you may want to change the way you prepare in order to generate different results. Work to tweak your answers for the better and see if the outcome changes.

Does your face spell frustration? No matter how long you’ve been searching for a job, don’t let the interviewer know how desperate you are. Of course you want a job as soon as possible, but it doesn’t have to read on your face. Do your best to keep a positive vibe and be optimistic to set the tone of the interview.

When looking for a job, it all boils down to your patience and determination to search for the right opportunity where your skills fit best. You can find the job you’ve always wanted. Don’t give up!
