Take a vacation
One of the reasons affecting a person’s performance and motivation to work is job-related stress. Many times, we fail to give it our best shot at work because we’re too exhausted. Like they always say, you cannot pour from an empty cup. To be able to share your skills, abilities and knowledge, you have to be well physically, emotionally, and mentally. Therefore, be sure to take a break if you must. Take a vacation and make time for unwinding and relaxation. Make use of the vacation time allotted for you by your company. It’s there for a good reason and for employees to make use of.

Determine what you want
Each time you feel like you’re losing focus, it’s a good idea to recall and remind yourself of your goals and mission in terms of your current work and the company you’re working for. What are your short term and long term goals? How is your current job helping you get there? Are you taking some steps to help you achieve your goals? Sometimes all it takes is a good reminder and reflection of what and where you exactly want to be in the future.

Find time for your hobbies
When was the last time you actually spent time on your hobbies? When was the last time you dedicated a few hours to reading a book, whipping up a meal or playing a musical instrument? Hobbies aren’t just there as a form of entertainment. They are there because they make you feel whole and they help you channel your other skills, abilities and talents so that you feel accomplished in other facets of your life besides your career.

Find ways to relieve your stress
Getting stressed at work is normal. What’s not normal is carrying the burden of the previous week’s stress with you in your daily life. You owe it to yourself to find ways to be relieved of your work stress. Do whatever it takes to feel better after a long and exhausting day. Whether it’s feasting on your favorite comfort food or binge-watching your favorite series or playing a feel good song a hundred times over - you can do anything that works for you to overcome stress and feel better.

It isn’t always easy to be at your best at work every day. But there are ways to bring back the passion and motivation and become the best version of you from now on!
