Physical Therapist Interview QuestionIf you’re a physical therapist and are currently looking for a job, you must be ready to answer this question of what you’ll be bringing to the company. Obviously, hiring managers would like to know how suited you are for the position available and if you’ll be an effective physical therapist. You can prepare to respond to this question by reading the tips below.

Start by stating your strong points.Applicants should know that it’s okay to promote themselves in order to get the position they’re applying for. However, always know the boundaries and don’t go overboard. Convey your knowledge, experience, skills and abilities to the hiring manager or recruiter.

Review the recruitment requirements. Refer to the requirements listed in the job posting, and tell the hiring manager if you possess the skills they are looking for. Of course, you must provide concrete information to back up your claims. Always interact in a positive way to avoid ruining your first impression.

When stating your strong points, only include the ones that are relevant. Focus only on the strong points that relate to the job of a physical therapist. For example, having good communication skills is definitely a plus. Share your past experiences with your hiring manager that will help prove how well you can interact with others. Other relevant traits include the ability to learn from mistakes, a knack for solving problems, and the ability to adapt to changes.

State your previous experiences the field or similar fields. This will give you an advantage over applicants who are applying as a physical therapist for the first time. At the same time, tell the hiring manager that you are willing to learn new things and enhance your skills even though you’ve been in the healthcare industry for a while.

Always be service-oriented. Even if you’re in the healthcare sector just to make a living, you still need to present yourself as service-oriented. Hiring managers can tell if applicants have their heart in it, or if they’re just in it for the money. Express how much you want to provide a positive customer experience as a physical therapist.

List the benefits you’ll bring to the company. Grab a pen and paper and list down all of the advantages that will come to any employer that hires you. Once you do, it’ll be easier to point out all the benefits you can bring to your employer as well as the physical therapy clients.

To top it all off, it is important to be sincere when answering this question. You may have all the skills and abilities required of a successful therapist, but these are not enough to succeed in the interview. Open your heart and show the hiring manager that physical therapy is what you were destined to do.
